                  DbmDbm chord EE chord
It's empty in the valley of your heart
                  DbmDbm chord EE chord
The sun, it rises slowly as you walk
                  DbmDbm chord
Away from all the fears
EE chord BB chord EE chord
And all the faults you've left behind

                    DbmDbm chord EE chord
The harvest left no food for you to eat
                  DbmDbm chord EE chord
You cannibal, you meat-eater, you see
                    DbmDbm chord
But I have seen the same
EE chord BB chord EE chord
I know the shame in your defeat

EE chord AA chord EE chord
But I will hold on hope
EE chord AA chord EE chord
And I won't let you choke
AA chord EE chord BB chord
On the noose around your neck

DbmDbm chord AA chord EE chord
And I'll find strength in pain
DbmDbm chord AA chord EE chord
And I will change my ways
AA chord EE chord BB chord
I'll know my name as it's called again

             DbmDbm chord EE chord
Cause I have other things to fill my time
                 DbmDbm chord EE chord
You take what is yours and I'll take mine
                  DbmDbm chord
Now let me at the truth
DbmDbm chord BB chord EE chord
Which will refresh my broken mind

               DbmDbm chord EE chord
So tie me to a post and block my ears
          DbmDbm chord EE chord
I can see widows and orphans through my tears
                          DbmDbm chord
I know my call despite my faults
EE chord BB chord EE chord
And despite my growing fears

EE chord AA chord EE chord
But I will hold on hope
EE chord AA chord EE chord
And I won't let you choke
AA chord EE chord BB chord
On the noose around your neck

DbmDbm chord AA chord EE chord
And I'll find strength in pain
DbmDbm chord AA chord EE chord
And I will change my ways
AA chord EE chord BB chord
I'll know my name as it's called again

                    DbmDbm chord EE chord
So come out of your cave walking on your hands
                  DbmDbm chord EE chord
And see the world hanging upside down
                   DbmDbm chord
You can understand dependence
EE chord BB chord EE chord
When you know the maker's hand

EE chord AA chord EE chord
So make your siren's call
EE chord AA chord EE chord
And sing all you want
AA chord EE chord BB chord
I will not hear what you have to say

DbmDbm chord AA chord EE chord
Cause I need freedom now
DbmDbm chord AA chord EE chord
And I need to know how
AA chord EE chord BB chord
To live my life as it's meant to be

EE chord AA chord EE chord
But I will hold on hope
EE chord AA chord EE chord
And I won't let you choke
AA chord EE chord BB chord
On the noose around your neck

DbmDbm chord AA chord EE chord
And I'll find strength in pain
DbmDbm chord AA chord EE chord
And I will change my ways
AA chord EE chord BB chord
I'll know my name as it's called again

  1. An alternative to using a capo on 4. Play it in D instead of E (that was the key I learned it in for guitar, so it might come in handy if your guitar friends don’t like retuning). Then the chords become G A Bm D (instead of respectively A B Dbm E).
